Home - News & Events - Sior Mario, Cadamuro: a family, a company, a passion
Reading newspapers and historical economic and political books has always been my passion, but also writing short diary entries.
From around 1974, I started to write down in my notebook the events that happened to me and that somehow left a mark on my life.
I have always wanted to tell my story, not only for a sense of self-celebration, but above all to hand down to posterity an example of the strength and will that have always accompanied me.
Strength and will that today, more than ever, must emerge from the new generations that find themselves in a period of isolation.
I realise that today's young people are not so keen on reading books, with the COVID-19 pandemic then, the landscape has certainly changed, relationships are increasingly reduced and feelings increasingly repressed.
I would like this book to be a humble stimulus to spur the youth of today to take up what used to be called the 'personal diary' in order to be able to express the many feelings they experience during the day and come out of the isolation to which they have been forced because of the contagion.
I tell my story as an entrepreneur that is intertwined with my family because for me the two have always gone hand in hand and I have shared everything with my family!
With this book, I wish to pass on to those who will read it the values that my family and history have taught me; yes, I wish to pass them on to you who will read it so that you will know how to treasure them and find motivation in them.
In particular, I address my grandchildren Matteo, Sara and Giorgia so that they can understand the traditions, the sacrifices made by their predecessors to achieve the prosperity of today.
I would like to thank the late accountant Mario Malaguti who was the first to start copying my notes, and Alfonso Beninatto, to whom I am related, who rearranged my story by inserting some historical notes that place my events in the economic and social context of the time.
On the verge of publishing this book, I was surprised to learn of my nomination as Cavaliere della Repubblica. I am honoured by this recognition, which may have been conferred on me for my entrepreneurial, social as well as political path. However, I feel I can say that I will always remain 'sior Mario detto il bello'.'
THANK YOU!
